About Me

Aleksandra graduated with honours from Interior Architecture of the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw in 1988. In 2010 she opened her Art Studio and since then she is working on interior design and art projects simultaneously. She never prepares any sketches for her paintings.

She is guided by the intuition, emotions or the mood. She works quickly, usually, a single painting is formed in 1-2 hours. This impatience can be seen in the rapid movements of the brush on the canvas, the intermingling colours, sometimes too thick layers of the paint. Aleksandra laughs that working on every painting replaces her work-out training, to paint a picture with dimensions 150 x 100 centimetres is like running with plenty of sit-ups in between.

She says that only in such a rush she is able to capture and convey the emotions of the characters - women, on the one hand, beautiful like models from Elle magazine, but on the other - clearly from beyond the stereotypical image of the "fashionable sex dolls", which are imposed by the media. Aleksandra says that she likes when the woman from her painting is looking back at her.

They may not be liked, but it is impossible for anyone who walks by not to notice them. "Good girls go to heaven... But the girls from Alexandra’s paintings would rather not go there. They are provocative, slightly sinful, full of desire, and sometimes evil."

"Every portrait that is painted with feeling is a portrait of the artist, not of the sitter"

"A work of art is the unique

result of a unique temperament."
